F***ing news

This is the funniest news item I have come across.

Ok - 2-2

Yes - I don't ditch my favorites too easily.

There were two major mistakes I saw yesterday - mind you, I have watched a majority of the action 'live' only on weekends by which time the Aussies generally start playing better than on the first two days.

The two mistakes were:

1. Shaun Tait's completely illogical dismissal - Paul Allot used the term 'mental aberration' for it. I liked that term - tends to put a spin to the simplistic phrase 'it was a no brainer'.

Does scale make that big a difference?

I was watching Lakshya yesterday and a thought struck me there was outrage when Kargil happened but it is somehow acceptable for the average Indian when a similar exercise is carried out by the Pakistani Army and/or the extremists at a much smaller scale.

Aussie bashers

I think this a fair reflection of the class available.More importantly this is a collection of all those players who have individually done very well against the World Champions but because of various reasons - let down by other team-mates being a very important reason - couldn't actually defeat the Aussies (not everyone can be a Brian Lara).

I'm amused

I find it amusing that people still use mail services like Yahoo or Hotmail rather than Gmail but nothing amuses me more than this man.

Foot in mouth?

This may be fraught with danger but I predict a 3-1 win for Australia.

It is always good to crush a champion side when they are down. As Chris Goodwin keeps saying getting close to Schumacher is one thing and passing him is altogether different.

There have been so many instances where champion sides have salvaged ugly wins just because the other team which managed to trade punches for so long couldn't deliver the knockout punch.

Shane Warne: Ball of the Century,

Here's the Quote of the century...

Weekend update

It just dawned on me that we have turned 58. It is the standard age for retirement if you are in Central Government service and it would do us absolutely no harm to take fresh guard and start all over again.

Ricky Ponting played the perfect captain's innings.

Everyone is talking of rifts - first it was Dravid vs. Ganguly, now it is Ponting vs. Warne and Inzamam vs. Shoaib.

Ringtones

Happy Birthday

Venkateshwaraswamy SuPrabhaTam

Gayatri Mantra

These are some of the weirdest ringtones I have heard. Personally, I find all ringtones to be highly disturbing and irritating - especially at the workplace. To hell with polyphonic ringtones.

Some thoughts on Cricket

I have started watching Kevin Pietersen's game only from the first Ashes Test at Lord's. However I have been following his scores from the South African tour (I used to live in the dark ages then - no Star Sports/ ESPN @ Dapodi). In fact, the first time I had not seen any pic of KP till some time back. All these days, whenever I read about KP or heard his name, the image that would be formed in my mind was that of Superman - I don't know why.
