The wait...

I know anyone who followed news over the weekend knew that this post knew that it was coming. This was a rollicking weekend. Some of the happenings:

Liverpool beat Chelsea (the word stunned was used in some news reports) in the FA Cup Semi final. Venue - Old Trafford :) At the end of a "hugely successful" year for Chelsea, Man. United end up with one Cup in their cabinet (Carling Cup) and Chelsea still has some work to do to win the one silverware that they were "running away" with.

Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in the finals of the Monte Carlo Masters. Didn't watch it.

Bigg

Apparently Digg is Bigg...I came to know of it only today.

ROFL...

Sometime this week, I happened to watch a few minutes of Indian Idol 2. Some Gult who seems to be in the final reckoning was actually at YSR's residence. In the shock I didn't notice if 'even' YSR was exhorting viewers to send in their votes for the Gult and do an Assam for him.

I have found it very amusing to follow the coverage of Sallu's [sic] arrest, his cell-mate, the food he was served, the lack of pillows et al.But this one just took the cake (or is it shirt!!).

Weekend Update

Saw Dhammo and Varada blow up a good chance to win the Brand Equity Quiz 2006. Instead, it was won by the dark horse Goldman Sachs from Bangalore. The trip to Aamby Valley was also my first long drive in the Santro and I was more or less satisfied with the car and my driving.

Chelsea did put up a magnificent performance - in line with the expensive line-up they have - to beat the Hammers 4-1.

Manchester United played like the champion team they are - to beat Arsenal, yet again.
