The fear of fear

This is one fear which I have never been able to overcome.

Silly Point

I should soon start posting regularly on a new group Sports blog, aptly titled Silly Point.

Pressure

So, Mr.

Great Work

What started with an online petition against the pathetic state of roads in Pune and later grew into the Better Roads movement had a great moment under the sun (literally) when they formed a human chain in a peaceful manner on May 21.

Khalbali hai Khalbali

The song rocks - there have been very few songs with an Egyptian base - the movies that I remember are - Tehzeeb by ARR; The Great Gambler by RDB; an old Shammi Kapoor starrer - don't remember the lines of the song - but IIRC SJ had been inspired from an Egyptian song(I'll check with dad on this one) and the much maligned and mutilated versions of Khaled's Didi.

Kannagi

I am sure some of the DMK followers do believe that the Tsunami and various disasters that have struck Tamil Nadu in the last five years are a manifestation of Kannagi's wrath- MK might not be saying it publicly, keeping in line with his atheist image. If you have read the Kannagi story , you would agree.

Up for Sale

Quirky item - yeah, right...

If only someone could put up the rights to Himesh Reshammiya's songs and his voice up for sale, I would buy the very quirky item and liberate this world.

I have never participated in the 'tags' that keep going around in the blog world but a 'list of quirky items that you want to buy' is surely one interesting tag...

Google and Google Talk is cool

I have not been able to explore Google Talk much because I cannot use it when I am at work - stupid Internet policy 'at work'. But now that it has got integrated into Gmail, I can access it even when I am at work. I have always liked the simplicity but I think a great feature which I just noticed was when I clicked in a chat window, I immediately got this message : "Ravikiran is busy.

Stupid

How Stupid?

Stupid enough to take more than 600 Test wickets. But stupid nevertheless.

Sanity being restored

I remember saying this to myself when I first started noticing timelines in recent Indian political history.I thought that Mrs. Indira Gandhi returned to power in 1980 just before I was born so that the political scene got cleansed by the time I made it to this world.

Today, when Sirisha and I are awaiting the birth of our baby in June, I can safely say that at least the world of sports is returning to normalcy.
