Heroes

I have been known to be very loyal to my heroes and have backed them through thick and thin, through bites and butts.

I was thinking about all my heroes, especially sporting ones and there is hardly anyone who can claim to be squeaky clean, with the probable exception of SRT - who sadly might not fit in this league because he does come up short in terms of sporting achievement when compared with the following:

Michael Schumacher - Big favourite but who would forget the violations in '94,'95,incidents with Hill, Villenueve,Coulthard, engineered results with Barrichello and even the Moncao GP this year. He remains a favourite nevertheless.

Diego Maradona- My first sporting God. Peter Shilton, Italy '91 and USA '94.

Zidane

I have been supporting Zizou since the time I saw that brilliant volley in the 2002 Champions League final. Before that, Zizou was just Brazil's conqueror - nothing more. I generally don't like the Brazilian soccer team and believe they end up winning tournaments because they end up playing much hyped but totally useless teams like England or Germany in '02 (not the team built by Klinsmann) or are just plain lucky as they were in '94 when the Zen shot over the post.
