Pathetic
This is a very disturbing statistic - especially coming out of the Tech. capital of India. Sad. Very sad.
I used to believe that dowry deaths and domestic violence against women was at its peak in the 80s and after the information revolution post 1991 with Cable TV and Internet, such things should slowly get eradicated. What is surprising and sad is that the social awareness messages that used to be aired on DD and AIR have disappeared. Now, everyone wants to talk of the uber cool India Shining crowd as if whatever needed to be done for the 'other half of the world'(the other half for me includes the 'uneducated', the social outcasts, the financially underprivileged) has been done and dusted with.
We are sitting on a time bomb.
