I have recently discovered the value of social networking and am spending a lot of time on Orkut, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn looking for good reads. Good ole' Suketu directed me to this post by Tell Jeeves on Twitter and it is fantastic. He talks about the royal feast he had/has at his in-laws place! Reminded me of those days when I used to get the same treatment in Hyderabad.

I think he is the flashiest captain England have ever had, since Ian Botham. Flintoff was good but Pietersen is uber kewl. If he brings to the captaincy half of the dynamism he shows in his batting, he will be the only match-winning captain in International cricket (though Shane Warne claims IPL to be international cricket, it isn't and you know who the best captain is, when you include IPL).

I didn't watch the game but these words sure sound quite rich when they come from the Kiwi skipper.

The political scene is heating up - Mayawati has withdrawn her support to the UPA. Mulayam Singh Yadav is, naturally, cosying up to the foreigner. I believe our politicians don't bother much about the country and have incentive to serve only their own interests and how things work in electoral politics make it easier for them to serve themselves and not bother about anything else.

Will he or won't he?

Will Scolari revolutionalise his Chelski team?

Will Rooney come back stronger and better after marriage? Will he compensate for the impending loss of a striker-cum-winger?

Will Deco arrive?

Will Lampard/Drogba leave?

Will Wenger reap the benefits of off-loading Adebayor?

Will SAF get back to putting the team above one player?

Will a team outside the current top-four lift the trophy in May 2009?

I know almost nothing about her but I did feel bad when I read about the demise of Jane McGrath. May her soul rest in peace.

No, I'm not talking of a desi version of Brangelina (which is the image I form in my mind whenever I see/read the name). Rangan Baradwaj is on of the best writers/film critics that I follow. He has written a super brilliant post on Father's Day here. On that note, I should also link to his review of Sarkar Raj for my Dad who went and watched it on the first day because my mother had her friends come over to our house on Friday.

This is good planning. But I still don't understand how it will save people from potential embarrassment of 'buying' the condoms.
